Welcome to Livable! The goal of the game is to find a mystery location somewhere on Earth. Guessing a location will tell you how similar the location is based on factors of livability, not physical distance.
How it works
There's one new mystery place every day. It changes at midnight Eastern.
Click anywhere on the map to guess a place.
Each guess is scored on how similar it is to the mystery place. Higher % means more alike, and you'll see where it ranks among every place on Earth.
Land within 50 km of the mystery place and you've got it. Stuck? After enough guesses you can ask for a hint. Give up and we'll show you where it was (it counts as a loss).
Similarity Dimensions
Climate - the weather feel: how warm, how seasonal, how much rain and snow.
Terrain - the lay of the land: flat or mountainous, high or low, green or dry, near the sea or a big lake.
Population Scale - how big it is, from a village to a megacity.
Regional Standing - is it the big city of its region, or a smaller place in a giant's shadow?
Average Age - how young or old the people are.
Generational Mix - the balance of kids, working-age adults and seniors.
Development Intensity - how built-up it is: sprawling and spacious, or packed tight.
Culture - the language and religion of the country: what people speak and believe.
Two ways to play
Hard shows your overall score, your percentile, and how well each of the eight qualities above matched. Easy adds arrows on top of that: which way the mystery place differs from your guess. “▲ warmer” means the mystery place is warmer than where you clicked. Pins on the map run from red (very different) to green (very similar).
